GTS Data Privacy Statement GTS Global Traceability Solutions GmbH (hereinafter referred to as "GTS") provides for users on the website www.radix-tree.org a platform for corporate communication adapted to the requirements of the timber industry (hereinafter "Platform") and offers to the participating companies and entrepreneurs (hereinafter referred to as "Participants") after a registration via the Platform, in particular, a solution for "tracking and tracing", i.e. for the traceability of products, product components and raw materials as well as for conducting due diligence or risk management tasks. With this Data Privacy Statement, GTS provides detailed information about the treatment of user or Participant information which are collected in connection with the use of its websites as well as the Platform. § 1 Collection, Processing and Use of Personal Data (1) Generally, users can visit the websites of GTS without disclosing personal data. In this respect, GTS only stores access details without personal references, such as the name of the internet service provider of the user, the page from which the user is accessing the websites of GTS, or the name of the accessed file. This information is used solely for improving the services of GTS and does not facilitate the identification of the user. (2) Personal data is only collected by GTS if the user voluntarily provides such data in connection with the opening of a Participant's account for the use of the Platform or the registration for a newsletter or forum. Without specific approval, GTS uses the data provided by the users or Participants solely for the use of the services and functionalities offered to the Participants via the Platform as well as for accounting purposes. For the settlement of the payment of the monthly user fee, GTS may pass the Participant's payment details on to the bank assigned with the payment]. Otherwise, the data of the Participants and users will not be passed on to third parties and are not used for advertising purposes. (3) With complete settlement of the Platform membership and complete payment of the user fee by the Participant, the data of the respective Participant will be blocked for further use and deleted after expiry of the retention periods under tax and commercial law, unless the Participant has explicitly agreed to the further use of his data. In the case of registration for the GTS newsletter or forum, the email address of the user or Participant can be used for own advertising purposes of GTS, until the user or Participant unsubscribes from the GTS newsletter. Deregistration is possible at any time. (4) The data of users or Participants is processed on the servers of GTS GmbH, with the servers being located exclusively in Germany and other member states of the EU. § 2 Use of Cookies (1) In order to make the visit and use of the Platform user-friendly or to enable the use of certain services and functions, GTS uses so-called cookies on several pages. These are small text files which are installed on the terminal of the user or Participant. Some of the cookies used by GTS will be deleted again at the end of the browser session or after the browser is closed (so-called session cookies). Other cookies remain on the terminal of the user or Participant and enable GTS to recognise the browser of the user or Participant at his next visit (persistent cookies). (2) The user or Participant can set up his browser to inform him every time a cookie is installed and to prompt him to decide in every case about their enabling or rejecting in specific cases or generally. In the case of rejection of cookies, the functionality of the website of GTS as well as the use of the services offered via the Platform may be limited or prevented. § 3 Data Security (1) GTS is protecting its websites and the services offered via the Platform by technical and organisational measures against loss, damage, access, modification and distribution by unauthorised persons. Access to the Participant's account is only possible after the entry of the personal password of the Participant. In this regard, the Participants are responsible for keeping the access information confidential at all times. (2) In the course of the registration process of the Platform, the personal data of the members is transferred via the internet encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)-Technology. Credit card details are not stored by GTS, but collected and processed directly by the payment service provider. § 4 Repetition of Declarations of Consent (1) Under the German Broadcast Media Act (Telemediengesetz – TMG), GTS is obliged, where applicable, to explicitly request certain consents for data collection and data processing, to document the granting of consent and to keep the content of the consents available for retrieval at any time. Users and Participants may revoke their consents at any time with effect as from that point in time. a) Permission for E-Mail Advertising o I would like to subscribe to the GTS newsletter/forum. Deregistration from the newsletter is possible at any time. b) Use of Cookies o I consent to information being stored in cookies beyond the end of the browser session and to be accessed on my next visit. These cookies serve to help you access the GTS site faster and more efficiently. I can revoke this consent at any time, with effect as from that point in time, by setting up my browser to reject cookies. § 5 Creation of Pseudo-User Profiles for Web Analysis (1) On the websites of GTS, information is collected and stored by Joomla Stats, a web analysis service of the service provider Joomla, from which user profiles are created using pseudonyms. These user profiles serve the analysis of visitor behaviour and are evaluated for the improvement and built-to-suit design of the services of GTS. The creation of respective user profiles does not occur in connection with the use of the Platform or for the analysis of the behaviour of the registered Participants. The creation of user profiles of Participants is carried out by GTS only to the extent that an express consent from the respective Participant has been granted. (2) For the creation of pseudo-user profiles, cookies are used which by means of the local storage on the computer of the site visitor enable a recognition on a repeated visit of the websites of GTS. (3) The pseudo-user profiles are not linked with the personal data of the carrier of the pseudonym without an express consent of the respective user that has to be granted separately. (4) Users may object to the data collection and storage for the purpose of web analysis at any time. § 6 Right to Information / Contact Person for Data Protection (1) In accordance with the German Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz), the users or Participants have the right to free-of-charge information about their stored data as well as, if applicable, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of such data.
